This week Design Hub Kampala is participating in the Kampala Innovation Week and is organising the Dutch Design Mission (27 November – 1 December). As part of the activities that are taking place we would like to invite you for the following masterclasses:
4 PM: DESTINATION MARKETING – HOW TO BEST MARKET UGANDA AS A TOURIST DESTINATION? By TMC
Tourism Marketing Concepts, a Netherlands based company offers a wide range of services to consumer brands and governmental organisations. They offer Travel PR, Travel Marketing & Representation. Destination marketing, Branding and Advertising concepts, Media Planning and – Buying and they have a profound knowledge of the market and media landscape. This session is a must attend for everyone working in or affiliated with the tourism / hospitality sector in Uganda, be it hotel businesses or local tour operators.
5 PM: BRANDING AND COMMUNICATION IN A CHANGING MEDIA LANDSCAPE By WGreen.
W.Green is a Branded Communication Agency with a specialty in the area of sustainable fashion & lifestyle. They adopted a holistic branding approach, with a fresh look ahead and an innovative and critical vision for now and the future. They are familiar with old models and ideas but rather pioneer to find new models and solutions still applicable in the (near) future, such as vlogging and other social media approaches. This session is very interesting for young, trendy start-ups that aim to launch their brand or product with new audiences in mind.
6 PM: CREATING INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY by Jan Boelo & Afriek
Jan Boelo is an internationally known fashion designer from the Netherlands. He is currently exploring the aesthetics of the Karamojong and collaborating with Kampala based designers. He will talk about how to create a high fashion label and the journey of becoming an international known name.
Afriek is a Dutch Rwandan based company, bringing African heritage to the North of Europe. Currently they are exploring new styles for both fabric and print in collaboration with Kampala based designers. Afriek will talk about how to commercialise your product with a sound financial foundation.
