09 Feb #CreativeTalk – Oscar Kibuuka and Apio Moro
Join us for our first series of monthly CreativeTalks with seasoned Photographer Kibuuka Mukisa Oscar on the theme: “Creativity & Empathy”.
Kibuuka Mukisa Oscar is a Ugandan born citizen of the world, an unconventional self-taught, multiple award winning photographer and artist living and working in Kampala, Uganda.
CREATIVE ARTIST STATEMENT.
“I am a citizen of the world using photography as a tool of self-expression and discovery, documenting the world around me. I believe in telling stories of others and giving history a visual stamp by freezing moments. My work has a native influence from the youth and hiphop culture, people, social motivational causes and diverse forms of expression. I enjoy finding the light, creating interactions and capturing that moment both candid and staged. I photograph people in their environments because I want to preserve a moment in time and give a sense of belonging. I am inspired by the curiosity of understanding people’s enthusiasm and drive towards their work, creating and preserving the history and making art. I hope to give-a-smile-to-the-world through my lens and evoke a positive dialogue about the African continent.”
